Arrive in Hanoi and settle into your hotel. The evening is free to dine at one of Hanoi’s many wonderful restaurants.

  

Enjoy a morning cyclo tour of Hanoi, exploring the magical Old Quarter and French Colonial District. Explore the city at leisure in the afternoon and in the evening for dinner and a water puppet performance.

     

Drive three to four hours to Mai Chau Valley for a peaceful break in the Vietnamese countryside. Stay in a comfortable lodge with a swimming pool and spa facilities and use this as your base for guided cycling and walking through local ethnic minority villages.

        

Relax by the pool, walk through emerald green rice paddies and enjoy the beautiful surrounds.

  

Optional activities in the morning before departing Mai Chau after lunch then transferring back to Hanoi for the night.

     

Today drive three to four hours to World Heritage listed Halong Bay for a two night cruise on a
traditional junk. Once onboard, enjoy a fantastic lunch as you set forth into the bay amongst thousands
of limestone islands. Have a go at night squid fishing from your boat!

     

Today can be spent kayaking in secluded lagoons, swimming, sunbathing, hiking, or rock climbing (rock climbing is not included). Halong Bay offers professional rock climbing lessons for both beginners and experienced climbers. In the evening enjoy a seafood feast under the stars.

  

After relaxing all morning cruising through the bay, transfer back to Hanoi in the afternoon for your
overnight sleeper train to the quaint, picturesque fishing village of Hoi An. A picnic basket of snacks and
breakfast is included to take onboard.

Enjoy an afternoon walking tour of Hoi An’s ancient streets, relax in a riverside café or take a walk down the beach.
