Mawlamyine is the capital and port of Mon State. It is located at the mouth of the river Thanlwin (Salween), about 270 km southwest of Yangon. After coming here, visitors can see the old colonial buildings in the quiet streets. In addition, several pagodas and monasteries in the hills will provide perfect views of the city and its port.
