New Visa Policy in Thailand

Thailand has extended the visa stay period to promote tourism and the economy. Starting from July 15, 2024, citizens of 93 countries/territories will be granted a 60-day visa exemption, with the possibility of an additional 30-day extension.

Visa Exemption:

  • Stay Duration: Up to 60 days.
  • Extension: Additional 30 days at the Immigration Office.
  • Applicable Countries: 93 countries, including Vietnam, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, the USA, etc.

Visa on Arrival (VOA):

  • Stay Duration: Up to 15 days.
  • Visa Fee: 2,000 Baht.
  • Applicable Countries: 31 countries, including China, India, Taiwan, Russia, etc.

Digital Nomad Visa

  • Stay Duration: Up to 180 days.
  • Purpose: Attract digital nomads to boost the economy through tourism and remote work.

Objective

  • Economic Impact: Boost Thailand’s economy through increased tourism.
  • Stay Extension: Increase the duration of tourist stays to stimulate spending.
  • Attract Digital Workforce: Draw in digital workers and remote employees.

Effective Date: From July 15, 2024
