After a period of significant increases in domestic airfares, especially during the April 30 – May 1 holiday, ticket prices have dropped considerably. This has had a significant impact on the tourism industry in Vietnam.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam announced that the prices of domestic economy class airfares (excluding taxes and fees) are now significantly lower, with fares in early June being only 13-80% of the maximum rates on various routes.
Airlines have also increased the number of flights available during late hours (after 9 PM daily) on routes such as Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, etc., to offer more options for customers flying during this period.
Vietnam Airlines has increased the number of late-night flights (after 9 PM daily) on routes between Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, and more to provide additional choices for passengers in the context of reduced supply due to engine recalls.
The decrease in domestic airfare is an opportunity to boost the number of tourists both domestically and internationally. Along with this, there is a need to refresh and enhance tourist destinations to make them more appealing to visitors.
