We ride from the thrilling capital of Hanoi in the north to vibrant Saigon in the south, explore the capital city by bike, uphill road of the Hoa BInh, Thung Khe Pass, spotted with remote villages, to the dramatic coastlines of Halong Bay with jungle-clad hills jutting from turquoise seas. Explore temples and beaches by bike at the ancient riverside town of Hoi An, known for its diverse range of cuisine. Or experience the pulsating energy where ancient meets modern in bustling Ho Chi Minh City, still known locally as Saigon.  Take a two-wheeled journey through landscapes of natural beauty on a cycling trip in Vietnam.

CYCLING VIETNAM Itinerary

After arrival, you will have morning leisure time to explore the city, in the afternoon you will embark on a 1.5 hour cyclo ride to explore the central market of Dong Xua and then visit the famous Old Quarter. Overnight in Hanoi.

On your second day, with your feet to the pedals, you will visit President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his garden and stilt house, followed by lunch with traditional music. You will continue with a visit to the One Pillar Pagoda, the famed Temple of Literature and legendary Hoan Kiem Lake. That evening, you will round off your cultural excursion in Hanoi with the sweet sights and sounds of a Water Puppet Show. Overnight in Hanoi.

From Hanoi, you will make your way to Hoa Binh, the first part of the trip will beup a mountain road and for the final section, you will ride your bicycle. In the afternoon, you will cycle to the nearby Lac village, home to the local Thai minority.

Overnight in Mai Chau

After breakfast, embark on a 3.5 hours trek from Lac village to Chay village passing through mountain trails, hidden minority villages, and rice fields. In the afternoon you will go on a 1.5 hour drive to Cao Phong. Upon arrival you will then head on a 2 hour cycle journey from Cao Phong to Giang Mo village which is home to the Muong Minority. Hoa Binh makes for a culturally rich excursion and fresh bike ride. Transfer back to Hanoi for the rest. Overnight in Hanoi.
After breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to the stunning emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin, where there are more than 1000 islets in the body of water known as Ha Long Bay. Upon arrival in Ha Long Bay, board the junk. Have lunch on board and start the 2-day/1-night cruise including kayaking. During the cruise, visit Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island, Dog Island, Sail Island, explore Sung Sot cave, and paddle from Titov beach to Luon cave. Overnight on Board.
Continue your exploration of Halong Bay. the cruise takes you from Luon cave towards the Man’s head island, Tortoise island and Virgin Cave. Return to Ha Long City and enjoy a fresh seafood lunch on the junk. On your way back to Hanoi you will get to visit the celebrated ceramic village of Dong Trieu. After arriving back in Hanoi, you will embark on your flight to the ancient capital of Hue. Overnight in Hue.
To start off the morning, you will take a bike ride to the Forbidden City, home of the Imperial Capital, from there you will pedal your way to Emperor Minh Mang’s Tomb. After your bike ride, go on a cruise of the Perfume River back to Hue stopping en route at Kim Long village which specializes in making the ubiquitous conical hats of Vietnam. After lunch, you will take a trip to Danang to visit the Cham Museum and then drive to the ancient town of Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An.
Hoi An, famous for its craft villages, painting galleries and tailoring shops gives you an opportunity to go on a boat trip to Kim Bon traditional handicraft village which is well known for its exquisite wood carvings. Afterwards, return to Hoi An to explore the historic buildings and shops. You will get to see Hoi An Market, Chinese Temples, and the Japanese roofed bridge. Overnight in Hoi An.
In the morning you will make your way to Danang airport to fly to Saigon, Vietnam’s burgeoning metropolis. Here, you will get to bike to the Reunification Palace, the War Museum, Saigon Post Office and Notre Dame cathedral. All sites of considerable historical importance for modern Vietnam.

Overnight in Saigon.

After Saigon, the leading metropolis of Vietnam, you will get to explore the in-depth Mekong and embark on a trip to My Tho. From there, you will board a boat and go on a cruise to the nearby islands and canals. You will stop at Ben Tre where you will go on a bike journey passing through the lush rice fields that have come to symbolize Vietnam and its agricultural heritage. After visiting several fresh orchard filled islands in the area, you will return to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.

After breakfast drive towards Cu Chi tunnels. Once out of the main city you will take your final bike ride to the amazing Cu Chi tunnels. Where the most recent history comes alive. After this, you will return to Saigon mid to late afternoon. This will be one of your final chances to shop. Your final reward of the night will be an hour long foot massage.

Overnight in Saigon

Free time at leisure until your transfer to the airport for your depart.
